Couldn't think of a something creative for a title so I'll just go with 'sleepyhead'
cuz that's just how this guy is generally!
And speaking of 'him'
, yes, what you see here is Ma Fei's redesign
! He actually looks more like a HORSE this time!! XD
He loves to snooze off, he's probably been training too much for his own good. He's going to be given a personality change too but I can't say much for now since I don't exactly know what role he'll play in the new graphic novel series that is ASHWORTH: Tales of the Cursed Wombat.
On his left is none other than his sister. But wait a minute... She looks more like a canine (i.e. of dog or wolf species
). Yes that is correct. They're not blood related, but Wu Mei's got what you would call an 'adopted brother', and she loves and respects him like a real older brother. This is where things get interesting.
I plan to have Ma Fei enter into the series (at some point in time - where I'll give an explanation to his back-story
) as a lone warrior who was adopted during the Great Eastern Borders civil war at a very young age. He's basically an orphan of war but was saved and introduced to the WOLF CLAN of the East because of his adept nature in the martial arts.
The father, Lang Zhong Cheng
, who is the leader of the clan decided to raise him along with his own son and daughter (Lang Feng and Lang Wu Mei
For the Chinese meanings behind the names that are written in pinyin
, here they are!
MA = Horse
LANG = Wolf
FEI = Fly/Flight (~high achiever, talented
WU MEI = Lovely/Charming (~graceful, cute and caring
FENG = Wind (~sharp, witty, moves fast - thinks fast, deadly
ZHONG CHENG = Loyal (~loyalty is staying true to someone. It is standing up for something you believe in without wavering. It is being faithful to your family, country, school, friends or ideals, when the going gets tough as well as when things are good. With loyalty, you build relationships that last forever
) - in reference to: [link]
Anyways I hope to draw more and illustrate their story through pictures in future. At the moment I haven't decided on how Ma Fei will come into the story. My main focus is Ashworth and Ruby
for the moment because I have a good idea of what their role is and where they are headed in the overall story of ASHWORTH.
